As an Irish-American who has spent time living his years in many parts of the world - including Sudan, Madinah, Qatar, & Turkey - living through decades from the lens of different parts of the world, Sheikh McCarthy shares his insights to make sense of what is happening around us: are these signs of the End of Times? Is this a wake up call for Muslims? Is this religious or political war? Knowing Iran is a Shi'ah country, should we as Sunni Muslims, take sides, putting aside our differences for the "greater good"? What are we to do in the wake of widespread oppression: do we continue to watch helplessly as others suffer?

The internet has opened up many doors of connection with authentic knowledge - but of course, with this new age of mass information, it has also opened the floodgates for everything else that comes with it: misinformation disguised as knowledge, an over-dependencye towards influencers instead of true scholars, and temptations of likes, followers and subscribers.
In this conversation, we discuss some tips about how we can navigate this tricky world with ikhlas and staying true to our principles, including the tricky and heavy reality of how we should behave happens when our teachers, role models or influencers veer of the Straight Path or go astray; drawing from Sheikh McCarthy's experience in da'wah & seeking Islamic Knowledge in Madinah, including directly from scholars such as Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen.
