Ramadhan : Hitting the Ground Running!

Tips & Reminders about Preparation towards making this the BEST Ramadhan ever, in shaa Allah.

At this point of time, many restaurants and hotels  have started to promote their “Ramadhan Buffet specials” as part of their business & profit strategy to maximize the benefit from this month.

But what are we doing as individuals, to prepare to maximize our benefits for Ramadhan? What preparations have we made to maximize the great blessings and virtues of this great month?

If even hotels and restaurants have business strategies to get the "best" out of Ramadhan, how about our individual strategy and preparation to extract the "best" from the great bounties Allah has promised us?

Surely we recognize that we are more in need of the Mercy & Bounties of Allah, more than businesses are in need of extra profits?

Think about athletes and sportsmen - some of them go to a severe amount of physical and mental training, to perform in that moment of truth that will either make or break their sporting careers.

Likewise, this one month will be the year's moment of truth, whether it will be "just another month", the month that could lead us to Paradise, or the month that will reveal the weakness of our faith - even without the influences of Shaytan.

The Messenger of Allaah, Muhammad (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“There has come to you Ramadhan, a blessed month which Allaah has enjoined you to fast, during which the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained up.
In it there is a night which is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived”

(Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 2106; Ahmad, 8769. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 999)

Many a times, Ramadhan ‘just comes’, we experience short bursts of iman surges, then after the first few days, we burnout, and then the month passes by barely affecting our lives, and then “another Ramadhan bites the dust”.

Not this time. This year, let’s set high goals and expectations that this will be the excellent Ramadhan : the Ramadhan which we’ve made the necessary preparations, such that when the time comes, we hit the ground running at full speed ahead, and maximize our benefits and reward from Day 1, all the way up to Shawwal.

After all, we all know that -
if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

In sha Allah, with less than 3 weeks to go, we will be sharing as much reminders and tips possible, on how to best prepare ourselves so we are able to reap its rewards and blessings from the first second the crescent moon reveals itself.

".. And help you one another towards righteousness and piety!" (Surah al-Ma'idah 5:2)

We ask that Allah grant His barakah and blessings in this, and that through this humble effort, will be a stepping stone for as many people as possible to Earn His Pleasure for Him to Grant His Mercy to enter us all into Jannah.
